Hanru Reyneke
ARRI TRINITY OPERATOR
About
My journey in the film industry began in 2004 as an editor. Three years later, I transitioned to the camera department, where I steadily climbed the ranks—from second camera assistant, runner, and fixer—to establishing myself as a camera operator. Since then, I’ve specialized in both underwater and high-speed cinematography, capturing extraordinary moments in some of the most challenging environments. Among my career highlights is filming the iconic Sardine Run and Great White Sharks—without the confinement of a shark cage—an experience that deepened my passion for storytelling through the lens.
In 2011, I completed the official Steadicam workshop at Tiffen in the USA, a milestone that launched a new chapter in my career. Since then, I’ve operated Steadicam on major productions including MasterChef South Africa, and Human Shark Experiment LIVE (National Geographic Channel) and for big brands such as Nivea, Tommy Hilfiger to name but a few.
In 2021, I expanded my expertise by becoming an ARRI TRINITY operator/owner—a role that has reignited my love for visual composition. The freedom and versatility of the TRINITY system have opened up new creative possibilities, allowing me to push visual storytelling to new heights.
This evolution reflects not only my dedication to the craft but also my passion for inventive, outside-the-box approaches to filmmaking.
I am driven by the pursuit of innovative visuals—where technical precision meets artistic expression.
